  • We are proudly present you our official logo for NGOs on the Move program.
  • Dear friends, we would like to present our questionnaire, which is important for our research effort in order to record and analyze the opinion of young people about Civil Society in the European Union (EU) and in different regions.
  • The importance of the role of the civil society in a sound democratic system is unquestionable and our highest motivation behind the creation of this project. We believe that as Jean Jacques Rousseau stated over 200 years ago “in a well governed society everyone participates actively” and the way to truly inspire active participation in the modern world is through the civil society. Therefore we have chosen the issue of the effectiveness of the NGOs.
  • Specifically the most relevant topics that will be addressed by our project's trainings, are going to be: -The role of the Social Media in modern NGOs. -Crisis Administration -Grants and EU Funds (for NGOs) -Recruiting & Enhance Organizational Culture -Future Partnerships & Strategic Alliances -How a Greek NGO is working under Economic Crisis

The civil society as every other political aspect has been severely stricken as far as its trust is considered, therefore we believe that the only way to regain it and come closer to the public it is to adopt modern techniques to improve the quality of their work and their approach to the public. After working in many projects where we had the chance to work with youth workers, politicians and representatives of the Greek civil society, we realized that one of the main issues in Greece today is the way its civil society works, since the gap between politics and society constantly rises.

The specific issues we identified in the civil society is the lack of competences, due to the globalization and the technological revolution, the crisis that affected every European society, which decreased both the financial and human resources of the NGOs and the lack of transnational cooperation in the region due to the stereotypes that still exist and maybe be increased due to the crisis.

In our effort to identify the routes of the issue we have set three main goals for our project, which are the support of the competences needed for a modern NGO to work effectively in the globalized environment, the reformation of the NGOs’ resistance to the economic crisis that did not leave them unaffected and the promotion of the value of transnational civil society cooperation, since to our mind common issues demand common solutions.

The importance of the role of the civil society in a sound democratic system is unquestionable and our highest motivation behind the creation of this project. We believe that as Jean Jacques Rousseau stated over 200 years ago “in a well governed society everyone participates actively” and the way to truly inspire active participation in the modern world is through the civil society. Therefore we have chosen the issue of the effectiveness of the NGOs.

We firmly believe that by promoting the qualitative improvement of one of the most important stakeholders in the civil society, the NGOs, we can affect the way young people nowadays address the active participation, the European idea and most importantly the chances given by non-formal learning activities, outside the curriculum of their Universities and schools.
